LEXINGTON COUNTY --?
A Gaston man is wanted by Lexington County Sheriff?s investigators, accused in an arrest warrant of beating his 15-year-old stepdaughter and harming family pets.
According to an incident report, deputies were called to 34-year-old Tony Lee Greathouse?s Forest Brook Lane home when someone called 911 around 8 p.m. Aug. 25 to report that a man had assaulted a child and kicked their family pets.
The officer arrived to find two women ? one of them Greathouse?s wife, Renee ? and three girls on the front porch. They said Greathouse had run into some nearby woods. Renee Greathouse said her husband had become intoxicated and beat her teenage daughter. Afterward, he took a parrot, cockatiel and iguana and kicked them out the back door, and broke a fish tank. It was not immediately clear which of the animals died as a result.

The girl had a swollen right wrist and reported pain on her left side where she accused her stepfather of kicking her repeatedly with steel-toed work boots after throwing her to the floor. Paramedics were brought to the house to check on her. She was ultimately taken to Lexington Medical Center. Her current condition was not available.
Renee Greathouse said in the report the incident began when she was elsewhere in the house and heard her older daughter yell at Tony Greathouse not to touch her. When she went into the kitchen, she reported seeing her husband slapping, hitting and knocking the girl to the floor, where he began kicking her. She said she pulled Greathouse off the girl and wrestled him to their bedroom, where he punched a hole in the wall. He then went back to the kitchen and knocked the teenager?s head against the wall.
Canine officers searched the woods for Greathouse but he has not been found.
Greathouse is 6 feet tall and weighs 145 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is charged with unlawful neglect of a child by a legal custodian.
Anyone with information on his location is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888) CRIME-SC (274-6372) or the sheriff?s department at (803) 785-8230.
